Union Health proudly announces the expansion of its Cardiac Rehabilitation services at Union Hospital Clinton. Cardiac rehabilitation assists patients in their optimal physical, social, and mental health through exercise training, cardiovascular health education, and lifestyle modification at the individual’s own pace.

With the expansion, an outpatient phase III program is now being offered at Union Hospital Clinton. To qualify for the program, patients must first be diagnosed with one of the following:
  • Myocardial Infarction
  • Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
  • Heart Failure (Ejection Fraction (35%)
  • Coronary Heart Disease
  • Coronary Artery Bypass / Valve Surgery
  • Anginal Pain
  • Cardiomyopathy
This program allows patients to exercise two to three times per week within the Rehab Clinic while being observed by qualified nurses and exercise specialists. Although patients will not have continuous cardiac monitoring, each will receive a quick-strip EKG, blood pressure, and resting heart rate review prior to exercise. Patients will then be provided with a pulse oximeter to self-monitor their pulse throughout their session.

The phase II program is private pay and can be continued as long as the patient chooses to participate. Cardiac Rehab Clinic hours are as follows:
Tuesday: 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 9 a.m.-Noon / 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
Thursday: 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

Interested patients are encouraged to call 765.832.1247 for more information.
