Rehabilitation

Pulmonary Rehab is a supervised program of exercise and education. At each session, experts provide the vital support and information you and your family need to meet the daily challenges of living with a chronic lung disorder.

The beauty of pulmonary rehabilitation is that is it works to both prevent and improve many of the problems experienced by those with a breathing disease. As a result, people who participate in pulmonary rehabilitation tend to live longer with a better quality of life and fewer hospitalizations.

At Union Hospital, we work with you to improve your diet, exercise, and behavioral habits in ways that lessen the impact of your disease. Once the disease is tamed in these ways, the quality of your life improves, both physically and mentally.

Treatment is individualized to your precise needs by our caring professionals to provide you with all the education, exercise, breathing retraining and coping skills you need to live your life to the fullest.

In short, those who participate in our pulmonary rehab program learn the keys to achieving optimum physical and mental health with a maximum level of independence. They have learned that they can thrive even while living with a breathing disorder.

Breathing affects every single moment of our lives. For those with a breathing disorder or disease, the result is constant debilitation. But it doesn't have to be. If you've been diagnosed with any type of lung disease, you can benefit from our program and we want to get you involved.
