Having cancer is a stressful experience and can lead to many normal feelings, including sadness, worry or distress. Your doctors want to provide you with the best care for your body, mind and spirit. Our medical psychologist helps you adjust to difficult experiences, and is available to help you learn different ways of coping, and to offer you and your family compassion, support and hope.

Our medical psychologist can work with you and your family by offering:
  • Support in coping with the stress of cancer
  • Problem-solving to get through treatment
  • Help to process feelings about having cancer
  • Ways to reduce worry or anxiety
  • Assistance for families who have a loved on with cancer
  • Tools to help you remember what doctors say
  • Ways to increase factors we know help fight cancer such as hope, humor, faith and joy
  • Grief counseling
