Support Groups

Why participate in a support group? Why not! Patients may benefit from a support group if they feel alone, feel that no one else has experienced such intense pain, worry about the symptoms they are experiencing, have few people available for support or are hesitant to rely on friends and family.

The following support systems are available to our patients:

Living Beyond a Diagnosis - Cancer Support

Created and ran by a local survivor, this is a community-based support group for anyone who has been diagnosed with any type of cancer. The group meets on the third Wednesday of every month at Union Hospital in the lower level of the West Building. For more information, contact Tess Burton at tessburton91@gmail.com or 812-241-0771. An online support group is also available here.

Ostomy Support

This group is dedicated to the education, support and rehabilitation of anyone who has undergone ostomy surgery. The group meets the first Thursday of every month. For more information, please call (812) 238-7370.
