Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is a health and rehabilitation service that helps people regain and compensate for skills that are important for independent functioning. Our therapists work with people of all ages who have experienced illness, injury, or developmental/psychological impairment. We provide specialized assistance in learning skills to enable patients to lead independent, productive, and satisfying lives. While you are recovering, occupational therapy can help you:

  • Learn new ways to manage daily tasks such as eating, dressing, and bathing
  • Obtain special assistive equipment to function more independently
  • Use and benefit from custom-fabricated splints
  • Discover ways to increase your physical strength, endurance, and mobility
  • Compensate for losses of sensation, vision, or upper extremity function
  • Develop the skills necessary to return to work, household tasks, and community activities

Timely, skilled treatment from our occupational therapy team may benefit people experiencing functional physical difficulties arising from:

  • Arthritis
  • Burns
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Fractures
  • Neurological Disorders
  • Peripheral Neuropathy
  • Scoliosis
  • Sprains
  • Strains
  • Other Traumatic Injuries
  • Orthopedic injuries
